May So

Born into a family of jewelry, May SO has been nurtured with the passion and beauty of jewelry. She acquired Research Gemologist and Professional Gemology Diploma through the GIA, and worked for Van Cleef & Arpels.

May SO has been professionalized in the industry with over 20 years of experience in jewelry design, as well as manufacturing procedures in China. With her endeavor, she successfully set up and optimized a production line in a one-stop-service operation mode. Under her leadership, her Hong Kong jewelry company and mainland factory were also granted ISO9001. 

In 2015, May SO was successfully recognized by “the Excellence Brand Award” in Hong Kong. GBA Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur Awards in 2018.

Accumulating jewelry experience and jewelry addiction, May SO has eventually invented a new setting and craftsmanship for jewelry. May SO‘s latest highlights take her in new design directions. The contemporary natural contracts with 3D technique that shapes the piece, in a feat of craftsmanship and design. It lavishly contributes to the Hong Kong Jewelry industry, which gained tremendous achievements on innovation research, leading May to obtain the “Hong Kong Jewelry Patent” in 2016 and “China Jewelry Invention Patent” in 2018 successfully.

Not only is May passionate about jewelry, she also supports local designers and brands by developing SPECTRUM, starting a new era of retail experience.

May SO is now an Executive Committee member, Vice Honourary Secretary and Design Community Chairman of Hong Kong Designers Association (HKDA).  

She is also the mentor of the Design Incubation Programme in Hong Kong Design Center (HKDC) and an Advisory Committee of Hong Kong Smart Design Awards in HKEA. Providing her experience, she acts as Design Panel of Design Gallery in Hong Kong Trade Development Council and Jewelry Expert at the Vocational Training Council.
